Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality care and early childhood education to children in our nursery setting. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise your management and leadership skills while fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. The ideal applicant will have experience working with children, possess strong communication skills, and be committed to supporting children’s development and well-being.

Duties

  • Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with early childhood education standards.
  • Supervise and support children’s daily routines, including play, meal times, rest periods, and outdoor activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times by adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and behaviour, reporting any concerns to senior staff or parents as appropriate.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through effective communication and teamwork.
  • Manage classroom resources efficiently, ensuring a clean and organised environment conducive to learning.
  • Support the induction and mentoring of new staff or interns as required.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of nursery policies and procedures in collaboration with management.

Experience

  • Previous experience working within a nursery or early childhood education setting is essential.
  • A background in Montessori, Forest School or similar approaches is desirable
  • Demonstrable management or leadership skills within a childcare environment are highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with children of various ages, demonstrating patience, creativity, and enthusiasm.
  • Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to liaise effectively with children, parents, and team members.
  • Experience in childcare or nursery management roles is advantageous.
  • Valid driving licence is preferred for roles involving travel between multiple nursery sites or community engagement activities.
