Clinical Prescribing Lead (Fully Remote)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced prescribing professional to support the delivery of specialist healthcare services across both adult and young person pathways. This is a clinical leadership role focused on safe prescribing, complex case management, and supporting multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality patient care.
Working within a growing clinical service, you will provide expert guidance to healthcare professionals, support clinical decision-making, and help maintain robust governance and patient safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical & Prescribing Support
- Provide specialist advice on prescribing decisions and medication management.
- Review and support complex clinical cases.
- Offer guidance on treatment planning, monitoring, and managing medication-related concerns.
- Ensure prescribing practices align with current clinical guidance and regulatory standards.
Clinical Leadership
- Serve as a point of escalation for prescribing and medication-related queries.
- Support clinicians in managing complex patient situations.
- Promote consistency and best practice across clinical teams.
- Work collaboratively with senior clinical colleagues to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
Team Development
- Provide mentorship and informal support to healthcare professionals.
- Assist with onboarding and integration of new clinicians.
- Encourage a culture of continuous learning and clinical excellence.
- Contribute to service improvements and operational efficiencies.
Governance & Quality
- Champion safe prescribing and patient-centred care.
- Support safeguarding, clinical governance, and risk management processes.
- Participate in quality assurance and service development initiatives.
- Help drive improvements in patient outcomes and clinical performance.
About You
Essential
- Registered healthcare professional (GMC, NMC, GPhC or equivalent).
- Qualified Independent Prescriber.
- Proven experience managing complex prescribing cases.
- Strong understanding of clinical governance, safeguarding, and patient safety.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound clinical decisions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of neurodevelopmental or specialist mental health services.
- Experience supporting both adult and younger patient populations.
Desirable
- Experience working in remote or digital healthcare environments.
- Involvement in quality improvement or service development projects.
