HR Assistant

A local NHS Trust located in Darlington is seeking the services of a well-organised, highly motivated Human Resources Assistant

The Role

You will support the HR Team to contribute to the provision of a comprehensive, pro-active HR service to managers and staff.
In addition to having the skills and expertise required for the core requirements of the role, we are looking for someone who shares our person-centred approach, works effectively within a busy team and has excellent communication skills.
You will be supported by a friendly and knowledgeable team and this is an ideal opportunity for someone who wishes to increase their experience of providing a Human Resources service and to gain experience within the NHS.
This is an agile role which, after a period of induction and training, will include home working and working across Trust sites with the main base being at Darlington Memorial Hospital

Pay and Hours

Key Requirements

Previous experience of working in a HR Department or HR Assistant role.
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to communicate and work effectively with a wide range of people from different backgrounds
Ability to prioritise work and to work effectively under pressure
Tact and diplomacy in interactions with others
Good personal organisation and administrative skills
Competent user of Microsoft/Computer products
Knowledge of employment law and Terms and Conditions of Service.
Flexible/positive attitude to work
Experience gained within an NHS environment is desirable but not essential

Education Level and Qualifications

Good General Education (GCSE) or educated to NVQ level 4 standard or equivalent experience.
Certificate in HR Practice (or be working towards)
Post Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management/CIPD – Desirable
Evidence of continual personal development i.e. regular updates in employment legislation and other HR related matters – Desirable
