Enforcement Officer

We are looking for an experienced Enforcement Officer to look after the cleanliness, safety and quality of the Waltham Forest’s streets. As a Neighbourhood Officer, you will champion your Neighbourhood Ward by overseeing a range of issues including street cleansing, refuse and recycling collection services to ensure needs of local residents are met. You will have a can-do attitude and be able to achieve results using your skills, knowledge and experience of working in a multi-disciplined, community focused environment. You will work closely with ward councillors, communities and partners to help improve the quality of life of local residents and ensure that the Council continues to deliver quality services. You will undertake enforcement and compliance activities relating to enviro-crime, noise, nuisance, waste management/street cleansing, grounds maintenance/trees as part of a rota including weekdays, evenings and weekends. Key accountabilities include; Deliver a specialist aspect of service delivery, which engages customers / stakeholders and enables them to make effective use of the service. Maintain all required records and information. Analyse and interpret complex information, for input into reports. Develop specialist documents / materials / activities to support / promote the service area. Provide advice and guidance to colleagues, customers and stakeholders. Manage escalated or complex customer issues within the specialist area. Maintain information systems which support the specialist area. Contribute to the development of these systems. Work closely with others to clarify changing customer / organisational requirements. Develop good working relationships, develop community links and communicate effectively with internal / external organisations / partners and stakeholders. Represent specialist area internally and / or externally. Carry out all duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others and report any potential hazards or unsafe practices to line manager. Ensure the necessary standards relating to safeguarding best practices/protocols are effectively communicated, monitored and maintained as relevant within the scope of this post. Act in accordance with all policies and procedures which apply to the job and understand the reasons for this. Carry out all duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for the health and safety of self and others and report any potential hazards or unsafe practices to line manager. Ensure the necessary standards relating to safeguarding best practices/protocols are effectively communicated, monitored and maintained as relevant within the scope of this post. This is a full-time job, 37 hours/week, for an initial period of 3 months.
Location: Waltham Forest
Payrate: Basic: £18.67/hour; Bank holiday: £37.34/hour; Waking Night Weekday: £24.83/hour; Waking Night Weekend: £28.01/hour; Waking Night Bank Holiday: £56.01/hour.
